Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle

Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle…it’s an old mantra, but the first two steps – Reduce and Reuse – are often overlooked in favor of consuming new products that may then be recycled.  Here are some ways to help your business minimize the amount of goods it consumes, while maximizing the reuse and recycling of goods and products used at your place of business.  

These actions will help lower the amount of waste disposed of in landfills, saving your business on waste disposal costs.  At the same time, these actions will help lower emissions of methane – a greenhouse gas more than 20 times as potent as carbon dioxide.  In Albuquerque and Bernalillo County, the primary source of methane emissions is waste decomposing in landfills.
